It can become a powerful opportunity to raise <strong>young citizens<\/strong> who understand freedom, question responsibly, think critically and have the confidence to contribute to society. <em>UNESCO\u2019s <strong>Global Citizenship Education<\/strong><\/em><strong> (<\/strong><strong>GCED<\/strong><strong>)<\/strong> similarly emphasises critical thinking, empathy, collaboration, participation and responsible action as essential qualities for young citizens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Turn history into a living lesson<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Move beyond memorising dates, names and events.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss why freedom, democracy, equality and fundamental rights matter in everyday life.<\/li>\n<li>Connect India\u2019s independence with contemporary issues such as environmental responsibility, inclusion and community welfare.<\/li>\n<li>Such conversations make <strong>Independence Day activities for students<\/strong> more meaningful than a ceremonial celebration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Shift to democratic household engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A <em>2025<\/em> review on parenting dimensions published in <em>Premier Science<\/em> confirms that democratic environments cultivate higher cognitive flexibility and emotional regulation compared to authoritarian setups.<\/li>\n<li>Rote learning and strict compliance often stifle natural curiosity.<\/li>\n<li>Establish open family forums.
