Narayana Schools Embrace National Pet Day Celebration

National Pet Day

Every year on April 11th, people come together to celebrate National Pet Day with pet parents, a day that aims to raise awareness for the welfare of animals. Although the day honours pets and their owners, we believe pet owners don’t require a specific day since every day with their cherished pet is invaluable.

National Pet Day held special significance for Narayanites. At Narayana, we organised the event by inviting our students to introduce their pets and interact with other pet parents. We also conducted a session where students & teachers discussed the values instilled by caring for a pet, including discipline, empathy, calmness, emotional well-being, and the experience of unconditional love and support. We firmly believe that caring for a pet promotes responsibility and nurtures kindness and empathy in children, and this event strengthened this belief.

The event was a tremendous success, as it allowed students to share their perspectives about raising a pet and showcased their strong bond with them, to their teachers and fellow students. Additionally, the event provided students with a wonderful opportunity to express their gratitude by pampering their pets, discussing the values they instil, and overall creating moments of love and playfulness that contribute to their development as emotionally well-rounded individuals. We also assessed our students’ understanding of their pet’s history and engaged in enjoyable trivia related to pets.

Ms. P. Sharani, Director, Narayana Educational Institutions said, “I believe that celebrating National Pet Day is not just about showering our furry friends with treats and toys; it’s about recognising the profound impact they have on our lives and the valuable lessons they teach us about love, loyalty, and companionship. She further added, “a wholesome social environment enhances not only intellectual, but overall well – being of the student, having a pet broadens the student’s horizons and fosters the sense of appreciation and respect towards the pet.”

National Pet Day at Narayana Schools provided a platform to nurture compassion, love, respect, and care. At Narayana, we aim for over-all development of our students, which often comes from diverse experiences. We aim to cultivate empathy and compassion in our students by providing them with relevant experiences, which will allow students to blossom into well-rounded individuals as at Narayana, Your Dreams Are Our Dreams.
